Sven Frenzel – Production Trained Cinematic Photography

For productions, brands, publications, and select portrait clients

Sven Frenzel creates cinematic imagery for people and projects where polished isn’t enough. His work is built on over 20 years in film and television, where the shot has to be right, the light is fading, and there is often no time to ask twice.

His foundation is entertainment and publicity photography. From the quiet presence of the Dalai Lama to the raw energy of Rage Against the Machine, Sven has spent two decades mastering the craft of on-set imagery: reading scripts with publicists, working alongside directors and actors, finding clean frames in the chaos of action sequences, and delivering press-ready assets that travel across key art, campaigns, and social media.

That production experience now shapes his work beyond the set. The discipline, speed, discretion, and visual instinct required in film and television translate powerfully to commercial campaigns, editorial assignments, corporate communications, artist portraits, and select private commissions.

A specialist in available light, Sven is at his best in challenging environments: low light, limited time, moving subjects, layered teams, and moments that cannot be repeated. Whether working on a production, a campaign, or an intimate portrait session, his approach is the same: find the light that is already there, capture the truth of the moment, and create images that do not just document they compel.

A 30-year martial artist, Sven brings physical agility and mental discipline to dynamic work where timing, positioning, and presence are everything. His photography has appeared in international publications and campaigns, serving clients across entertainment, commercial, editorial, and private commissions.

Sven works with productions, agencies, brands, publications, artists, executives, and select private clients throughout North America, Asia, and Europe.

Sven Frenzel, 25 years on set, 30 years in the dojo. One expression for both: Mastering the Moment. A cinematic image-maker for film, television, and entertainment — capturing the moments between action and cut that tell the real story of a production.

Cinematic publicity imagery for film and television — press-ready assets that sell the project and travel across key art, campaigns, and social.

Working Light & Moment

Great publicity photography isn’t just about perfect lighting setups or controlled environments. It’s about reading the room, finding the light that’s already there, and capturing the truth of the moment as it unfolds.

With over 20 years on film and television sets, I’ve learned that the best images come from collaboration: working closely with directors, actors, and publicists to understand the story we’re telling together. My background in martial arts taught me timing and positioning. My years behind the camera taught me to trust my instincts.

I specialize in on-set publicity photography, promotional sessions, and the kind of challenging low-light situations where natural light becomes part of the story. If you’re looking for someone who can deliver powerful images without disrupting your creative process, let’s talk.
